Some gifts go unnoticed… and then there are those that become little everyday treasures. This book was exactly that. I gave it to my daughter for Christmas, never imagining it would become our official companion on culinary adventures. Ever since then, whenever I say, “Shall we cook?”, she runs to get it—and of course, with colorful bookmarks marking the recipes we have to make “one of these days.”

The truth is, we’ve already made many of them. Some we’ve repeated ad nauseam—like the ginger and orange cookies, which are almost a tradition in our house now. And what I love most about this book is the perfect balance between being visual, simple, and child-friendly. The recipes are easy to follow, the steps are clear, and the images help immensely, especially for little ones who can’t read yet (like mine). She looks at the illustrations and knows exactly what to do—and that gives her a delightful sense of independence.
It’s one of those books that doesn’t complicate things, doesn’t intimidate, and doesn’t require experience. It introduces the kitchen tools, explains the steps calmly, and transforms the kitchen into a space for discovery, play, and memories. And in the end… there’s always something tasty to share.
