Anyone who knows me knows that store-bought sauces and I rarely get along. Most supermarket mayonnaises smell sour to me and the taste… honestly, says nothing to me. I live perfectly fine without them.
But Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise is another story. A very happy story, actually.
Let me tell you: this is, without exaggeration, one of the best store-bought mayonnaises I have ever tasted in my life. Creamy, smooth, with an intense egg flavor that makes all the difference. It’s one of those things you try once and think, ‘Ah, so this is how mayonnaise is supposed to taste.’
If I had to give it a rating, it would be 5 stars without thinking twice.
And I warn you now: next time I go to the Asian supermarket, two packages are coming with me, because I won’t risk running out.
